• Extraction, purification and evaluation of biological activities of extracts and natural compounds from medicinal herbs, mangrove plants, fungi, algae...

• Molecular mechanism of the symbiosis between nitrogen fixation bacteria and legumes (Fabaceae)

• Cultivation of tissues and cells for propagation, protection of rare and valuable plant species and production of bioactive compounds

• Production of recombinant proteins from transgenic plants and application in medicine and production of crop protection compounds.

• Evaluation and exploitation of potential endemic crop varieties.

• Application of mutagenesis and biotechnology in breeding and selection.

• Development of fish vaccines.

• Molecular basis of gene expression regulation in fungi

• Pathogenic mechanism of Mucor fungi at the molecular level and applications in finding effective therapies for mucormycosis.

• Improvement of experiments to increase the quality of practical lessons of cell biology, biochemistry, and genetics.
