Faculty of Biology, HNUE and College of Marine Sciences, NSYSU meeting of intend on future cooperation
On Monday’s moring of Oct 7th 2019, Faculty of Biology, HNUE hold a meeting with six professors from College of Marine Sciences (CMS), National Sun-Yat Sen University, Taiwan at A3 building. Distinguished Professor and Dean of College of Marine Sciences, Dr. Hsien Hua Lee had a brieft introduction about NSYSU as well as CMS. NSYSU has traditionally been called Taiwan's top three with the programs in applied science, business school, marine sciences, and social science. In addition, NSYSU is often ranked among the world's top 400 universities overall. Today, there are four Doctorate-degree, five Master-degree, and three Bachelor-degree programs in the CMS, along with more than 800 students (450 under-graduate and 350 graduate students) and 52 full-time faculty numbers all with doctorate-degrees at at 3 depatments and 2 Institutes.
Associate Professor Doan Van Thuoc- Vice Dean of Faculty, Dr. Tran Thi Thuy- Head of Department of Biotechnology- Microbiology, Dr. Tran Duc Hau- Head of Department of Zoology, Dr. Tran Khanh Van- Head of Department of Plant Physiology and Application- Faculty’s International Cooperation Assistant, and Dr. Trieu Anh Trung discussed the scholarship for Master student and PhD candidats covered by Marine Biotechnology section. Currently, Faculty of Biology, HNUE with 5 year’s experience in educating Bachelor program for fully taught in English, we hope that by teacher mentoring, the cooporation between Faculty of Biology, HNUE and College of Marine Sciences, NSYSU will cultivate students with high research capacity and help the students understand modern education theory and put knowledge into practice when working in education.
Dr. Liao, Te-Yu, Dr. Hsin-Yang Chang, Dr. Yuan-Pin Chang, and Dr. Yeh Po-Hung from CMS also shared us about their academic researchs on Marine Biotechnology and Resources, Marine Environment and Engineering, Ocenography, Undersea Technology. Taiwanese Professors spent time visiting Molecular Biology Lab, Speciment storage room, Experimental Garden at Faculty of Biology.
So we hope that MOU signing between Faculty of Biology, HNUE and College of Marine Sciences, NSYSU will take place soon on cooperation in the field of education and also research.
