The International Marine Biology Course (IMBC) 2024 was held on Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture, focusing on marine biology research and marine ecosystem conservation. During the course, they participated in many practical activities, from diving, collecting biological samples to observing the development of marine embryos. In addition, lectures on biodiversity and marine ecosystems provided in-depth knowledge into the field. Through exchange activities with Japanese and international students, the student delegation from Hanoi National University of Education had the opportunity to learn, discuss and approach advanced research methods in marine biology.
After attending the IMBC2024 course, Tran Bach and Ngoc Mai continued to participate in the International Conference on Natural Sciences (ICNS2024) at Niigata University. This conference brought together scientists and students from many countries, discussing fields such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and environmental science. Activities at ICNS2024 included lectures, panel discussions and poster presentations, helping students gain more knowledge and engage in lively academic exchanges. The conference was also an opportunity for students to expand their networks and strengthen research collaboration with the international scientific community.
In addition to academic activities, the trip also brought memorable cultural experiences when they visited many famous places such as the Niigata Aquarium Museum and the Sado Gold Mine, as well as participated in a sunset cruise on the Shinano River. These experiences helped them gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and nature, while strengthening cultural exchanges between students from different countries.
After the trip, Tran Bach shared: “This was an unforgettable experience. I learned a lot from the course and the conference, but more importantly, I connected with new friends from all over the world. The knowledge and skills I have acquired will be very helpful for my future research work.”
Ngoc Mai also expressed: “I feel lucky to have the chance to participate in this trip. Not only does it expand my professional knowledge, but it is also an opportunity for me to explore Japanese culture, a very beautiful and friendly country. I hope that there will be more opportunities like this in the future to share and study.”
This trip to Japan is an important milestone in the learning and development process of students of the Faculty of Biology, Hanoi National University of Education. Along with expanding professional knowledge, the trip also brings opportunities to develop international cooperation relationships and contributes to improving the quality of training and scientific research of the school in the future.
